Help me go to Idyllwild Arts!
Hello! My name is Renata, I’m 15, a freshman and I have been accepted into Idyllwild Arts Academy in the visual arts field, in Idyllwild California.
This high school is specialized in Arts and it’s my dream high school for that. I know I’m young but I also know art is what I want to do for the rest of my life and that this would be a great contribution to my future.
I’ve received financial aid from Idyllwild Arts, but sadly it’s not enough for me or my family to pay the school because of many reasons, including that I live outside of the United States and it’s a private boarding school.
My favorite thing to do in life is drawing and painting, for so many reasons I probably can’t name all of them.
So to make my dream come true I need 38,876 dollars so I can go study at Idyllwild for a year.
It would mean so much to me if you decided to help me, I know it’s not a charity cause or anything, but it would help make my dreams come true.

I don’t expect gay people to prove to me, a straight person, that there’s actually homophobia. I don’t expect poor people to prove to me, a Harvard grad, that hunger and poverty are widespread problems. And if someone asked me, as an Asian person, to “prove” to them that racism exists, I would laugh all the way back to Chinatown. Marginalized groups are not responsible for explaining their marginalization to you. If you are actually concerned, you would take the initiative to do some research yourself instead of showing up at some oppressed group’s door step demanding a list of citations for things (racism, sexism, etc.) that are proven time and time again in the real world.
